To create a best in class customer driven organisation with a passion for
exceeding expectations, sustaining growth and enhancing stakeholder value,
within an environment of empowerment, teamwork and trust.
THE STORY
The story of Cycle & Carriage ("C&C") began in 1899 as Federal Stores in Kuala
Lumpur – a venture which is inextricably linked to the evolution of the motor
car and the emergence of Singapore and Malaysia as independent modern states.
Despite fluctuating fortunes from the transportation industry being subjected to
economic cycles, two world wars and the changing of government policies, C&C
stood strong. It has emerged victorious, backed by a resilience to adapt and
grow through its unwavering commitment to achieve excellence in its products and
services as well as the efficiency in its operations, which are still hallmarks
till today.
In 1951, C&C was awarded the sought-after Mercedes-Benz franchise. Cycle &
Carriage Bintang ("CCB") was incorporated in 1967 and took over the
Mercedes-Benz franchise from C&C in 1974. CCB was listed on the Kuala Lumpur
Stock Exchange ("KLSE" – now known as Bursa Malaysia) in 1977.
Over the years, the Company grew with the three-pointed star to its current
ownership of five multimillion ringgit Mercedes-Benz Autohaus dealerships in
Malaysia. This serves as a uniform worldwide brand touch-point that provides
Mercedes-Benz customers with an enhanced emotional retail experience underlining
the Mercedes-Benz brand philosophy.
Growing from strength to strength each year, CCB's role, however, changed in
year 2003, from that of an exclusive distributor to become the largest dealer of
Mercedes-Benz products in Malaysia.
Today, CCB is still principally involved in retailing of Mercedes-Benz with
unmatched record of new vehicle sales, servicing of vehicles and sales of
vehicle parts & accessories via its wide network of dealership in Klang Valley,
Ipoh and Johor Bahru. CCB captures over 40% of the market share for new vehicle
sales and serviced close to 70% of the Mercedes-Benz sold in the market.
